Through its expeditions, the National Plan of Scientific Expeditions (PNEC) aims for scientific research not only to be disseminated within specialized communities but to become part of the common knowledge and daily life of the communities that benefit from the services provided by these ecosystems.
For this reason, some of the projects associated with the expeditions included members of these communities, who, through their cultural and ancestral knowledge, have enriched both the development of field activities and the results obtained.
