II Seminar-Workshop – TBTI Colombia
This important seminar-workshop is held as part of the activities of the TBTI Colombia Network of Artisanal Fisheries Researchers and Knowledge Holders (Too Big To Ignore – TBTI), coordinated by a team from Universidad del Magdalena, Universidad Nacional de Colombia – Caribbean Campus, and the University of York, Canada, with the support of TBTI Global and CEMarin.
We hope the event will be attended and inaugurated by Dr. Ratana Chuenpagdee, Director of TBTI Global at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. We also expect leaders from TBTI networks in Latin America, including Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil, to present their experiences with the Fisheries Hub network and their respective countries’ fisheries books.
During the event, we will present the book “Artisanal Fisheries in Times of Change: Pathways Toward Sustainability in Colombia” – TBTI Colombia, part of the TBTI Global Book Series. This publication was made possible through the leadership and contributions of researchers Lina María Saavedra Díaz, Adriana Santos Martínez, Miguel González, and Ana Isabel Márquez Pérez, who actively participated in editing the book, as well as the support of the Editorial Office of Universidad del Magdalena.
The event will bring together international leaders from the aforementioned TBTI networks, registered members of TBTI Colombia, national fisheries leaders, and the authors of the 30 chapters of the book on fisheries in Colombia. To facilitate the participation of international and national colleagues, we hope to hold the sessions in a hybrid format (in person and online).
The event agenda is presented below. The event will take place on November 13–14, 2026.
