We Are Part of the People’s COP!

As part of our commitment to the territories and local communities, we have created a free and open event prior to the start of our course, where experts and community members can share experiences and knowledge. Join us on October 15th at the Pacific Campus (Buenaventura) of Universidad del Valle.

Experience transformative learning!

DATE: October 16–19 of 2024 / PLACE: Cali and Buenaventura, Pacific coast of Colombia.

Our pre-COP16 course is a fully bilingual course (EN/ES) that will be developed entirely in the field and co-designed between local communities and our member academic institutions. It integrates scientific knowledge and ancestral wisdom to experientially equip professionals from all sectors with the tools and knowledge necessary to implement sustainable strategies for the management and protection of coastal marine biodiversity and ecosystems.

Our pre-COP16 course will allow you to immerse yourself in:

Join Us on the Pre-COP16 Pacific Route

Buenaventura – Maguipi – Punta Soldado – Bahía Málaga (Archipiélago La Plata)

The Colombian Pacific harbors a wide variety of endemic and migratory species, including humpback whales, sea turtles, and a great diversity of birds and fish. Additionally, its tropical forests and mangroves provide critical habitats that support complex food chains and essential ecological processes. The cultural richness of the local communities also plays a fundamental role in the conservation and sustainable management of these natural resources, making this region a true treasure trove of biodiversity.
