Breaking Barriers: The ICMS 2025 Revolution in Marine Sciences

ICMS 2025 is not just another conference; it is a movement transforming the academic world of marine sciences. This edition, we continue our mission to challenge traditional paradigms and drive a Revolution in Marine Sciences by creating a space where science deeply connects with humanity and innovation. Our disruptive approach seeks to make marine sciences a more inclusive, human-centered, and relevant discipline than ever before. This commitment to transformation is reflected in our #IamBlueBlood campaign, which celebrates those carrying within them the mission of driving blue knowledge transfusions.

Aruba: A Living Laboratory for Marine Sciences

Aruba, our host island for ICMS 2025, together with the University of Aruba as the event host, embodies the essence of “living laboratories.” This island, surrounded by countless factors that demand constant innovation, is the perfect setting to explore the interaction between local communities and the oceans. From its rich biodiversity to the environmental challenges it faces, Aruba is a living example of how to learn and adapt through applied science. In this context, our #IamBlueBlood community is ready to inject solutions into the challenges affecting the health of this unique environment.

Island Labs: Transdisciplinary Co-Creation Workshops

One of the most exciting elements of ICMS 2025 is our “Island Labs.” These four unique workshops present challenges directly proposed by Aruba’s local communities. Representatives from these communities will introduce real-world problems they face daily, ranging from resource management to solutions for climate change.

These challenges will drive the collaborative work of transdisciplinary teams composed of event attendees, who, with diverse perspectives and expertise, will work together to develop concrete and applicable solutions. The Island Labs are not just about solving local issues; they represent blue knowledge transfusions where mutual learning becomes tangible action to drive a Revolution in Marine Sciences.

Building Solutions for Islands Future

ICMS 2025 positions itself as a space that transcends traditional presentation sessions. Beyond sharing research and discoveries, this event is a platform to build knowledge and provide solutions that directly benefit Aruba. Each participant, as part of the #IamBlueBlood community, will not only be learning but also contributing to the sustainable development of the host island, demonstrating how science can heal and strengthen entire communities.

Be Part of the Blue Change!

ICMS 2025 is more than a conference; it is a Revolution in Marine Sciences, an opportunity to lead change, build solutions, and connect with a global network of experts and change-makers. Aruba awaits to host this transformative experience.
